Rhys Poggio is a 2029 combo specialist with advanced technique, strong leg talent, and rapid on-field development. As a freshman, he earned the starting varsity Kicker and Punter roles for Blue Valley Southwest (KS), contributing immediately at the 5A level. Rhys was named Honorable Mention All-State Kicker by the Wichita Eagle after converting 5 of 8 field goals (ranking #13 in Kansas per MaxPreps) and 16 of 17 PATs.
On kickoffs, Rhys posted a 33% touchback rate, consistently driving the ball deep and demonstrating power well above typical freshman benchmarks. He also executed two successful onside kicks during the season, showcasing both situational awareness and ball control.
With a strong training foundation and year-round development through Kohl’s Kicking, Rhys is emerging as one of the most promising specialists in the 2029 class.
