Hughes recently competed at the 2024 Kohl's Future Stars Event. He put up 3 points on the field goal session. During the kickoff charting, Hughes ended with an overall score of 87.55 with his standout ball of 56 yards with a hang time of 2.76 seconds. On the punt charting, Hughes connected with his "A" ball of 36 yards with a hang time of 3.55 seconds. Hughes has the natural ability to continue to improve with dedication to the craft, he has a big two seasons ahead of him. Hughes also competed at the 2023 Kohl's Midwest Winter Showcase. Here he was able to show improvement by moving up to becoming a 4-Star kicking prospect. Hughes finished with 7 points on the field goal session. During the kickoffs, he was able to send his standout ball to a distance of 58 yards with a hang time of 3.03 seconds. On the punt charting, Hughes was able to connect with a big ball of 40 yards with a hang time of 4.16 seconds. Hughes also competed at the 2023 Kohl's Midwest Spring Showcase. He competed in all three disciplines at camp and had a solid showing for a younger aged athlete. During his field goal charting, he scored 5 points and he connected with a big ball of 58 yards with 3.31 seconds of hang time during the kickoff charting portion of camp. He showed refinement in his catch/mold during punting and was able to connect with some advanced punts including a big ball of 45 yards with 3.87 seconds of hang time. Hughes has a lot of potential and it will be fun to continue to watch him develop over the next two years!
