Kohl's Comments

Welch had a strong showing at the 2024 Kohl's National Underclassman Challenge. He showed improvement of his command of his "A" ball on field goals and kickoffs. He scored 14 points in the field goal charting and had an overall score of 109.70 in the kickoff charting. His punting flashed huge upside as well and he connected with some impressive punts. His overall score was 99.03 which includes a big ball of 48 yards with 4.37 seconds of hang time. Welch earned an invite to the Underclassman Challenge in December of 2023 with a good day at a winter Showcase Camp. He scored 12/15 points on field goals,104.15 points on kick offs, and 101.3 points on punts. His biggest kick off traveled 69 yards and had 3.57 seconds of hang-time. Welch also competed at the 2023 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He had another strong showing in all three disciplines at camp. He scored a combined 17 points in the field goal charting of camp, and he charted a big ball of 64 yards with 3.62 seconds of hang time. His overall score on kickoffs was 98.78. During the punt charting he connected with some excellent punts including a big ball of 44 yards with 4.42 seconds of hang time.
