Byrd participated in the 2025 Kohl's National Scholarship Invitational and had a good showing in the punt sessions. He earned an overall score of 93.84, with his best ball traveling 45 yards and 4.18 seconds of hang time. He showed solid ball striking and the ability to generate clean contact. With continued refinement of his technique and operation, Byrd has the tools to keep progressing as a specialist. Byrd competed at the 2025 Kohl's Future Stars Invitational. He is a talented young punter who flashed an excellent "A" ball. His biggest charted punt at camp was 41 yards with 4.27 seconds of hang time. Continuing to focus on a clean catch/mold will be key for his operation to speed up and to keep seeing improvement with his abilities. Byrd competed at the 2024 Kohl's Southern Winter Showcase. He showed solid mechanics and above average leg speed for a younger ball striker at his first ranking event. He scored 84.90 points in the punt charting and connected with a big ball of 44 yards with 3.61 seconds of hang time. Hitting the weights and focusing on the catch/mold phase of his punt will be key for his continued development.
