Nelson had an excellent showing at his first ranking event, the 2025 Kohl's Midwest Spring Showcase. He impressed at camp and scored 10 points in the field goal charting, and he put up a score of 98.70 points in the kickoff portion of camp. His biggest charted kickoff was 63 yards with 3.78 seconds of hang time.Academics
