Kohl's Comments

Birkhoff competed in December and January after playing all season at another position. We expect big things from him this spring. He showed his potential at the Underclassman Challenge during the competition phase and his development will be key! He had another strong camp in July of 2023 at the National Scholarship Camp. He scored 101.72 points in punting, 25 points on field goals, and 106.32 points on kick-offs. We expect him to have a big season this fall. He also recently competed at the Underclassman Challenge and he did well in both charting and in the competitions. He scored 12 points on field goals, 107.93 points on kick-offs, and 106.12 points on his punts. At a December 2022 Showcase Camp he scored 10 points on field goals, 113.1 points on kick-offs, and 106.9 points in punting. Birkhoff also competed at the 2022 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He was impressive throughout the event and is advanced with leg speed and overall power. He scored 26 points in the field goal charting and was able to hit excellent kickoffs as well at camp. His overall kickoff score was 98.5 and his biggest charted kickoff was 68 yards with 3.68 seconds of hang-time. His punting "A" ball was excellent and with a continued focus on catching the ball cleanly and releasing it smoothly, he should develop into a high-level punting prospect as well. His improvement over the last year is impressive!
