Schmidt participated in the 2025 Kohl's Midwest Spring Showcase where he had a great day for his first ranking event. He made 9 field goals and earned a kickoff score of 98.15, with his best ball traveling 64 yards and 3.50 seconds of hang time. He also turned in a strong punting performance with a score of 100.71, highlighted by a best punt of 50 yards and 4.19 seconds. He demonstrated solid all-around ability as a combo specialist and has one of the better legs of his class.
