Kohl's Comments

Merbitz recently competed at the 2025 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He showed improved command of his "A" ball and has increased his leg strength overall. He scored 19 points in the field goal charting and produced a kickoff score of 99.37 points. In the punt charting of camp, he displayed an improved drop and more consistency with his ball/foot contact. He scored 91.82 points and connected with a big ball of 48 yards with 4.48 seconds of hang time. Merbitz had a strong showing at the 2024 Kohl's Future Stars Event. He showed improved command on his field goals and charted 8 points at camp. His kickoffs were solid, and he connected with a big ball of 54yards with 3.15 seconds of hang time. As he continues to increase his leg strength over the next 4 years, he will see increased distance and hang time on his kickoffs. He flashed solid fundamentals for a younger athlete in the punting portion of camp and his displayed high-level coordination. His biggest charted punt at camp was 42 yards with 3.68 seconds of hang time.
