    During the Kohl’s Western Showcase, Downey showed the ability to snap a quality football. He has a smooth snapping motion and snapped very well during the live portion of camp. Downey finished the charting aspect of Kohl’s Western Showcase with an average snap time of .81 seconds and scored on 5 of his first 10 long snaps. Staying fast with initial pull and powering his hands through his target will improve his velocity and tighten down his accuracy.

      With three kickers overall taken in the NFL Draft, the sixth round was a big one. All with similar attributes, when the first was selected, other teams knew they had to act fast.
