    McLaughlin attended his first Kohl's ranking event at the 2021 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp where he had some strong moments. He showed great consistency during his field goal charting, scoring 21 points while having some impressive moments in the kickoff charting hitting a big ball of 63 yards with 3.56 seconds of hang time.
