Thao attended Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp in July of 2025. At camp he scored an impressive 110.98 points on kickoffs and 20 points on field goals at camp. He showed he has college potential as a kicker and is someone to watch during his senior season. Thao also competed at the 2025 Kohl's Texas Spring Showcase and delivered a great performance for his first ranking event as a kicker. He made an impressive 11 field goals and won the field goal competition. He earned a kickoff score of 107.75. His best kickoff traveled 74 yards with a 3.38-second hang time, reflecting both power and consistency. Thao’s strong showing at the event highlights his advanced leg strength and makes him a prospect to watch in his class.
