Heaton recently competed at the 2018 Scholarship Camp. His strength are his kickoffs and his punts but he showed the ability to strike a consistent field goal as well. He uses his frame well, staying small on his steps and keeping the ball extended are two things he can continue to focus on with his punting. He charted some impressive punts at camp and is hitting with confidence and consistency. His roll-outs are getting better and he was able to score points on them as well. Heaton is generating good speed on his approach to the ball and is using his levers to generate some excellent kickoff distances. Increasing the sit back should allow him to get more lift and create better hang on them as well. Heaton earned an invite to the National Underclassman Challenge in January of 2018 after a strong performance during the December Showcase Camp of 2017. He has made significant improvement in his leg strength and his technical development. He charted 8 made field goals and looked advanced in his drill work at the Showcase Camp.
