Cushing had another strong performance at the 2023 Kohl's Texas Winter Showcase. He showed above average leg speed and had some impressive kicks at camp. He scored 8 points in the field goal charting and had an overall score of 105.55 in the kickoff portion of camp. His biggest charted kickoff at camp was 73 yards with 3.47 seconds of hang time. Cushing competed at the 2023 Kohl's National Scholarship Showcase. Here he posted 18 points on the field goals.
