Cushing performed well at the 2024 Kohl's Western Showcase Camp in May. He scored 9 points on field goal charting and showed improved command of his "A" ball. Cushing scored 106.90 points on kickoff charting and connected on a big ball of 76 yards with 3.08 seconds of hang time. Cushing charted multiple kickoffs of 70 yards or more. Continued focus on technical refinements will pair well with Cushing's leg strength as he continues to grow over the next six months. Cushing had another strong performance at the 2023 Kohl's Texas Winter Showcase. He showed above-average leg speed and had some impressive kicks at camp. He scored 8 points in the field goal charting and had an overall score of 105.55 in the kickoff portion of camp. His biggest charted kickoff at camp was 73 yards with 3.47 seconds of hang time. Cushing competed at the 2023 Kohl's National Scholarship Showcase. Here he posted 18 points on the field goals. During the kickoff charting, Cushing achieved a good score of 103.55, with his big ball measuring out to a distance of 72 yards with a hang time of 3.7 seconds.
