Matthews recently competed at the 2021 Southern Winter Showcase. He has powerful hips and explosive power. He was impressive at the event and with some slight increase in his operation time, he can develop into one of the top punters in his class. He drove the ball well and was able to create excellent hang time on his punts as well. He was able to chart several 45+ yard punts in the 4.4-4.6 range for hangtime at camp.Academics
