Kohl's Comments

The 2026 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp was an important learning step for John Espy as he continues to grow. Throughout kickoff charting, he totaled 75.9 points with a best kickoff of 49 yards and 3 seconds. He scored 8 points in the field goal charting and produced several well struck footballs in the charting at camp. His "A" ball is very competitive and creating more confidence in the command of it will be key for his continued development. At the 2026 Kohl's Southern Spring Showcase, he connected on 2 field goals and achieved a 76.6 kickoff score with a best ball of 50 yards and 2.8 seconds of hang time. Espy also demonstrated potential in punting with a score of 72.7. He recorded another 2 field goals and a 72.0 kickoff score at the 2026 Kohl’s Future Stars Event, indicating areas for improvement in power and ball flight as he develops. Staying focused throughout the event, he walked away with a clearer understanding of what works for him.
