Kohl's Kicking National Player of the Week
The Kohl's staff wants to recognize Kohl's kicking, punting, and long snapping prospects across the country for their outstanding performances each week during the 2024-2025 high school football season.
Kohl's Comments
Sturm recently competed at the 2024 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. Here he was able to increase his raiting by a half-star. He scored 10 field goals and achieved an overall kickoff score of 86.03, with a big ball measuring 58 yards and 3.35 seconds hang time. Sturm has the potential for a big upcoming season. Sturm came out to the 2024 Kohl's Midwest Showcase Camp in May. He scored 85.50 points on kickoff charting with a big ball of 59 yards and 2.84 seconds of hang time. Sturm showed promise and worked hard during field goal drill work. Mechanical refinements along with weight room work will help Sturm grow over the next year.Athlete Bio
I am a soccer goalkeeper and a baseball pitcher/ center fielder/ shortstop but I want to focus on place kicking in college. I also have good speed and a good arm, having run a 6.74 60 yard dash and thrown an 83 mph fastball at recent baseball combines. I haven't been able to play any other position but kicker in high school because of IHSA rules regarding multi-sport athletes in the same season and my status on our nationally-ranked soccer team. However, I'm open to playing other positions in college.
Academics are important to me and I want to get into health care in college. I prefer a college with 7000 undergraduate students or less. My sister is graduating with high honors from Case Western Reserve University next year and my brother is a sophomore Civil Engineering student at the University of Illinois. I want a college closer in size to Case Western. My father played football at Davidson College.
