    Kohl's Comments

McKechnie had another solid showing during the 2022 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He scored 12 points during the field goal charting, finished with an average kickoff score for the weekend of 88.45 points and had a big ball during the punt charting of 43 yards with a hang time of 4.38 seconds. McKechnie displyes great control of his body throughout the kicking motion and has made some great strides in his abilities. McKechnie recently competed at the Kohl’s 2021 Winter Showcase event. He had a consistent camp on all three disciplines and with some natural athletic grow with his leg strength he will move up in the Kohl's rankings. McKechnie attended his first Kohl’s Ranking event at the Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp in July of 2021. His “A” ball on punts was impressive with 49-yards with 3.4 seconds of hang time and with some refinement to his technique he will see his “A” ball more often. McKechnie can grow in confidence which will see him ready to compete at the next level. He is a talented young prospect with a bright future ahead of him as a combo specialist.

College Offers & Commitments // Class of 2023

With the majority of specialists historically being recruited the latest, all the way through the summer following their senior year, a number of Kohl's Kicking, Punting, and Long Snapping athletes in the Class of 2023 have found early success with great performances at Kohl's events, during their seasons, and at college camps.

Recruiting Blog: Setting Goals-- Athletic, Academic & Recruiting

Being a Kohl’s Coach for over ten years, the one thing I hear the most from athletes is talk of their star rating & ranking and what they want to achieve, especially during the Showcase season. But I wonder how many have thought about what it takes to achieve it and how to make it happen with their training? I am a big believer of setting high goals, laying out a detailed plan and doing everything in my power to try and achieve them.
