Barnes had an excellent showing at the 2026 Kohl's National Underclassman Challenge. He proved to be one of the better ball strikers at the event and impressed by scoring 20 points in the field goal charting. His overall kickoff score was 106.43 points which includes a big ball of 73 yards with 3.60 seconds of hang time. Brody Barnes performed well at the 2025 Kohl's Southern Winter Showcase, continuing to build on his progress as a specialist despite the challenging weather conditions. He recorded 11 points during field goal charting, placing 10th, and achieved 102.75 during kickoff charting, with a best kickoff measuring 72 yards and 3.3 seconds. Competing against top talent, he demonstrated his ability to hold his own and advance his development as a specialist.
