    Bortel recently attended his first ranking event, the 2024 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He impressed with his consistency of his ball striking and he charted well throughout the weekend. His overall score on kickoffs was 96.08 which includes a big ball of 64 yards with 3.59 seconds of hang time. His field goal charting produced a score of 19 points. He competed in punts as well and flashed above average leg speed and power. His biggest charted punt was 43 yards with 4.41 seconds of hang time and his overall score at camp was 79.79.
