Kohl's Comments

McLaughlin came out to the 2024 Kohl's Southern Showcase Camp in May. He scored 1 point on field goals and was able to connect and adjust during drill work later in camp. He took coaching well. McLaughlin posted a big score of 104.00 on kickoffs and showcased improved leg strength. His best kickoff was a 68-yard kickoff with 3.70 seconds of hang time. McLaughlin charted multiple kickoffs of 68 yards or more. McLaughlin scored 85.82 points on punts and had a big ball of 34 yards with 4.34 seconds of hang time. Continued focus on drop table and ball-striking will aid McLaughlin's growth. McLaughlin recently attended the 2023 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He flashed strong leg strength throughout the event and had a solid showing in all three disciplines at the camp. His combined score on field goals was 16 points and he connected with a big ball of 63 yards with 3.68 seconds of hang time. His overall score on kickoffs at the event was 95.73. During the punt portion of camp, he had several punts over 4.0 seconds of hang including a big ball of 31 yards with 4.31 seconds of hang time. Extending the ball on his drop will help him develop the ability to drive the ball and increase his distance on his punts.
