1. 2017 National long snapper Ratings

We only evaluate campers that we have personally seen at a Kohl's camp. In order to assure yourself a ranking you must attend a Kohl's Showcase camp or the Scholarship camp.

When ranking we ask the question, "If there was a college game today, is this athlete ready to help a college team win?". We look at the camp charts and take into account the different conditions at each camp. We also look strongly at how an athlete performs in drill work when they know they are being evaluated and graded. We see how they handle pressure and react in the camp competitions. We see certain athletes multiple times a year and try to grade them on their average performance.

Kohl's sees more athletes than anyone else in America at our 135 events.

There will be over 300 Kohl's high school seniors playing college football next season. There are many good prospects at the 4.0 and 4.5 star levels that will start in college in the future.

Evan showed some great potential with his snap time as well, averaging a .76 second snap time. Evan has some great potential as a snapper but really needs to focus on finding some consistency with his snap mechanics.

Jake snapped very well during the live session and had some great numbers during the athletic testing. Some areas that will help Jake improve his snapping abilities would be to work on becoming more flexible which would help be more flexible in his hips to go along with his already good form and frame.

He does a solid job of being aggressive with his snapping motion but also stays under control. Rowell attended the Senior Challenge and won the final competition in order to earn a spot on the final film. He has a very compact snapping motion and will benefit from being more consistent with his follow through and finish.

Joseph attended the 2016 scholarship and continued to trend upwards with his snapping, averaging a .72 snap time while hitting on 7 of 12 targets. Joseph does an excellent job of utilizing his body through the snap to get the most with every rep and has the right mindset to continue to improve. He recently attended the December 2015 Winter Showcase in Wisconsin and achieved an average snap time of .76 seconds. He scored on 6 of his 12 long snaps. Joseph will continue to benefit by focusing on his release and keeping his stance balanced and focusing on completing his entire snapping motion. His rotation and location will also greatly benefit by focusing on his extension.

He needs to continue on repeating the same snapping motion and be smooth with his mechanics. Smith is also very athletic and proved this by running a 4.89 second 40 yard dash. With continued focus on tightening his spiral, he will be able to play at the next level.

Luke has a very long frame and has done a great job of including his long arms in a more explosive way into his snap to see his snap times drop over time. With that long frame, it would be very helpful for Luke to widen his legs out so that he could extend his body through his snap more to help improve his speed and accuracy. Luke has the ability to be a very good snapper with the proper adjustments.

Billy is an extremely explosive snapper who averaged .66 seconds on his snap times. He would benefit greatly from more control of his snaps. He finished the day scoring on 6 of his 12 snaps. Billy is strong and athletic and uses these talents well during his snapping motion but needs to gain more control of his accuracy. As Billy continues to develop and refine his technique he will be a snapper to keep your eye on.

He showed explosive velocity as well as being able to place the football on the hip. He continued to get better throughout the day and earned himself a spot in the final competition. Overall repeatability needs to improve in order for Thurness to continue and develop as a snapper.

Toothman snapped well enough throughout the day and earned himself an invite into the final competition. Gaining in athleticism will help Toothman take his snapping to the next level.

Travis has very quick hands in his snap but would improve greatly by finding consistency in his mechanics and release point. Travis had a solid showing at the Spring Western Showcase. He scored on 5 of his 12 snaps and showed great improvement in his velocity. Travis is one of the biggest overall snappers in the 2017 class, standing at 6',4" and weighing 235 pounds. During the charting portion, he averaged a .68 second snap time. With his size and potential, Travis is a very exciting prospect.

Matthew's frame and athleticism are towards the top of the 2017 class and would benefit from removing the hitch he has to begin the snap. During the Spring Western Showcase, Matt posted an average snap time of .81 seconds. Matt has a solid frame and the athleticism to become a collegiate athlete. During the Showcase he ran a 4.58 pro agility and jumped 8', 6" in the broad jump. With increased focus on overall consistency with his mechanics, Matt can develop into a quality snapper.

Peter competed at the 2014 Midwest SC in December where he finished 20/45 with an average snap time of .96 seconds.
