    Athlete Bio

One of my goals for college is to get a degree in Kinesiology. My ambition is to become an athletic trainer or work in sports medicine. While attending college I would like to continue playing the sport I love by kicking for the school’s football team. What do I have to offer the team? What makes me stand out is my determination and persistence to attain my athletic goals and be the best that I can be. I was riding a 2 wheel bike at age 4, doing backflips and gainers off of the diving board at a young age, and running 5k’s at age 6. I like a challenge. I have always been athletic. Participating in Rec. sports for years, summer swim league for 14 years, track, cross country, and swimming in high school. Throughout all of these sports I have received many accolades. However, in November of my sophomore year, I decided that I wanted to kick for Destrehan High Wildcats, and so I practiced. I went to the field, daily, kicking for hours. No coaches, no trainers, no team. Just me and determination. Fast forward to the 2022 football season, and I was on the team, competing against 2 other kickers for the number one position. I held my own and did pretty well sharing time with the 1st string kicker. I kept practicing now under the guidance of a special teams coach. I worked hard, determined to improve. As the season progressed our 1st string kicker tore his ACL and was out for the season. It was now up to me to prove that I was worthy of that position. So I continued practicing, often run off the field by coaches telling me to go home and rest. Destrehan won the 2022 State Championship and I had the opportunity to kick in the dome. PAT’s, kickoff’s, punts, and a field goal. What an awesome opportunity for a kid who hadn’t started kicking until that year. I credit this to my drive to always improve, to push myself to get better and never settle for good enough. In an idealistic world perhaps I’ll play professionally. One of my favorite bible verses is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” God has given me this talent and ambition, so I want to use it to its potential whether coaching, training or kicking.
