    Callanen recentyl competed at the 2022 Southern Spring Showcase Camp. He charted field goals and kickoffs at the event and was able to hit some good balls during camp. He scored 4 points in the field goal charting and was able to hit a big ball of 61 yards with 2.99 seconds of hang time. Callanen attended his first Kohl’s Ranking event at the Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp in July of 2021. He hit some impressive kickoffs at the event with multiple 57-yard hits and showed that he has the leg talent to compete with athletes ranked ahead of him. The upcoming year will be key for him to grow in confidence because he has the leg talent to compete at the college level.

    With the majority of specialists historically being recruited the latest, all the way through the summer following their senior year, a number of Kohl's Kicking, Punting, and Long Snapping athletes in the Class of 2023 have found early success with great performances at Kohl's events, during their seasons, and at college camps.

    Recruiting Blog: Setting Goals-- Athletic, Academic & Recruiting

    Being a Kohl’s Coach for over ten years, the one thing I hear the most from athletes is talk of their star rating & ranking and what they want to achieve, especially during the Showcase season. But I wonder how many have thought about what it takes to achieve it and how to make it happen with their training? I am a big believer of setting high goals, laying out a detailed plan and doing everything in my power to try and achieve them.
